Under the Weather

Let's just say that mommyhood ain't so fun when you're not feeling well. I guess I just have a cold..headache, muscle aches, sore throat (not to mention a totally unrelated tooth issue, UGH!). It's a big slap in the face that you can't "take off" from parenting (or more importantly feeding your child). The funny part about it is that even when Billy says that he will take over, I can still hear all of the !#$!@# music making baby equipment, dvd's, etc. I swear Billy has got to be talking louder to her b/c I'm in bed. (: Anywho, I did get to go BACK to sleep until a whopping 9:00 A.M. this morning and do feel a little better. Because daddy took care of Chesley this morning, it is all documented in a photo shoot.

The Election

We know our daughter is advanced now......already interested in politics! Just ignore mama's beautiful socks.

Go Cats!

Billy got Chesley this adorable UK t-shirt, so we thought we'd try it out for game day. I'm not really into the bows right now for Chesley, but she looked so much like her dad (a boy) in the t-shirt that I had to plop a little white bow in her hair.

Canine Chaos

This seat cracks me up! Chesley won't sit in this seat for too long b/c her neck gets tired, but she looks so cute in it! I like to set her in it when we play with puppets. Sad news....our favorite puppet that Uncle Mikey gave us (Marley) had to be laid to rest today. Lissi destroyed it into tiny pieces all over the rug. The worst part about it is that I was in the room the whole time and didn't even notice. Which leads me to what I did to Henry last night....When I got home from the basketball game, Lissi was the only dog behind the gate to welcome me. I assumed Henry was asleep on the couch, but he was missing from the living room too. I then freaked out that I possibly left him outside in the backyard in the freezing cold (a cavalier could never survive..ha.), but again, no Henry. I'm now calling my mother-in-law (Billy is out of town) to say that Henry is missing when I hear something scratching on the bathroom door. I had accidentally locked him in the pitch black bathroom for 3 1/2 hours. The dogs have definitely moved down on the totem pole, but this is ridiculous. I vow to give both dogs a bath and a long walk this weekend. (:

Wasting Time

I'm proud to say that I finally have a morning schedule for Chesley where it is pretty much guaranteed (knock on wood) that she will go to sleep around 9:30 A.M. for at least an hour and a half. The bad news is that instead of actually doing things while she is sleeping like cleaning, laundry, or dare I say, working on my thesis!, I find myself on the computer WASTING TIME! I can get lost on youtube forever (like yesterday I watched tons of American Idol performances...love David Cook's Billy Jean, or today, I'm reading Pure Barre testimonials (hoping what happened to these women will happen to me) and jumping from one mommy/fashion blog to the next (dreaming of when I'll get out of the house next to even look fashionable). I really need to give these mutts a bath. Lissi's mustache is starting to have knappy dreadlocks or is it knatty dreadlocks? I don't know, but you know what I mean!

Two Month Doctor's Visit

Chesley was so cute at her doctor's visit...wide awake the whole time (and really awake when she got her shots!) She weighs 12.1 pounds now and is 22 1/2 inches long. She was lucky to have daddy soothing her while she got her shots. Mommy had to be the mean one and hold her legs down on the exam table. Now I see why my mom yelled when I got my broken finger popped back into socket. It hurts you when your child is in pain! Chesley did the silent scream before producing some nice crocodile tears. Needless to say, she recovered soon after and all is well.
